He is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine, and is certified through examination from the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Prior to joining the staff at Canterbury Institute Dr. Schwartz was an attending physician where he cared for patients in the inpatient detoxification and rehabilitation units. Dr. Schwartz also worked as an emergency department physician for 12 years and has had an active interest in addiction medicine for over 17 years. Currently serving as medical director of the Canterbury Institute; Woodbridge New Jersey, Dr. Schwartz personally oversees the evaluation and treatment of each patient at the center.
